Hoff Hit: Zest!

If you're zesting your citrus (lime, lemon, orange), make sure to only buy Organic!

You don't want the pesticide residue used on traditional citrus in your tasty treats!

As it is not typical to eat the skins of these fruits, these crops are highly sprayed and chemically treated and no, washing won't remove all the residue.

  1. If I do happen to find organic citrus in the store, I buy a good deal of it and juice/freeze and zest/dry. You can also mail-order for "real" citrus!

  2. Hmmm, never thought of drying zest before, good to know! A good source for mail-order citrus is LocalHarvest.org, you buy direct from the farmer!
