Earthlings, is a must see if you are a human being.
This doc may have come out in 2005, but sadly it is as relevant today if not more so. I first learned of it about four years ago, when I broke down the first minute of its 2:50 minute trailer. At the time, I had been vegan or rather plant-based for health reasons, abstaining from any animal derived ingredients from a dietary standpoint. All it took was that one minute to change me into a real vegan, : a strict vegetarian who consumes no food (such as meat, eggs, or dairy products) that comes from animals, also : one who abstains from using animal products (such as leather). After watching a living animal have its skin ripped from its body and thrown onto a pile of other freshly skinned animals to slowly die, leather/suede lost every ounce of status I once gave it. It would take four years until I could bring myself to watch this film in its entirety.
While this is a hard documentary to watch (I lost it several times) it reveals the truth that is happening every hour of everyday in this world. Having once been a contributor via my own consumption whether by food, possessions, or entertainment, I owed it to the animals who suffered by my ignorance to understand what pain, torment and torture that I caused, so that I will never play apart in these barbaric practices again.
The Game Changers, is a must see! Particularly perfect for those interested in sports.
This doc follows a variety of athletes from endurance runners to weight lifters, to an Olympian who have gone plant-based in order to improve their performance, extend their careers and give them an edge over competitors.
There is some profanity peppered throughout as well as a “scientific” test around erections, so use best judgement if sharing with little ones.
Just
as Forks Over Knives tapped into the mainstream consciousness, so too will this
film.
"Presented by James Cameron, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jackie Chan, Lewis
Hamilton, Novak Djokovic and Chris Paul — a revolutionary new film about
meat, protein and strength."
Truly awake or are you going through life on auto-pilot?

This doc follows Catharina Roland on her her spiritual journey to combine scientific fact with mystic wisdom's, to discover "how we can be whole again, how we can heal ourselves and the environment we live in, and how we can leave the cocoons of our perception."
That all sounded great, but the doc failed to deliver on any inspirational level and it wasn't even clear if Frank gained anything from his experience as he ended up with a drug overdose sometime after. In fact, towards the middle, the doc took a very dark tone and never quite recovered.
Frankly, I wouldn't recommend this film to anyone.
Chemiracal gets you thinking about all the chemicals in your home - from cleaning to personal care products. The doc follows one family's journey from chemical-ridden zone to toxic-free home!
"Chemerical" explores the life cycle of everyday household cleaners and
hygiene products to prove that, thanks to our clean obsession, we are
drowning in sea of toxicity. This film tackles "the toxic debate" in a truly informative and
entertaining way, not only by raising awareness, but most importantly by
providing simple solutions."
The Connection is a documentary that dives into the mind, body, medicine connection. It explores the health benefits that meditation has been documented to have over chronic illness.
The film includes an internationally recognized lineup of scientists, including Dr. Herbert Benson; researchers, including Dr. Dean Ornish; writers, including Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn; and renowned medical doctors, including Dr. Andrew Weil.
The film also features compelling true stories of recovery such as ProfessorGeorge Jelinek, a Professor of Emergency Medicine who has recovered from multiple sclerosis, and Dr. Ian Gawler who recovered from an aggressive bone cancer.
The Connection is a film that proves we have more influence on our health outcomes than we ever thought possible.
What The Health,
this doc is another game changer.Just
as Forks Over Knives tapped into the mainstream consciousness, so too is this
film.
From the guys
who brought us Cowspiracy, comes in my opinion, a better doc on the reasons to
go not only vegan, but plant-based.

The typical big
players make an appearance, as well as some new faces.
Filmmaker and director Tom Shadyac (Ace Ventura, Nutty Professor, Bruce Almighty, etc.) contemplated these very questions after an accident almost took his life. I AM is a documentary that brings together philosophers, scientists and others to help answer those questions.
Four college friends leave the cushy Seattle life to experience and to document what it's like to live below poverty in Living On A Dollar A Day.
They spent spent one summer living on $1 a day in a rural Guatemalan village. They battled intense hunger, parasites and the realization that there are no easy answers.
What really struck me about this doc is how happy the people in this village are and how willing they are to help not only each other, but also four perfect strangers. This film is a testament to the true human spirit.
But, the boys went beyond just a film, they have founded Living On One, a non-profit production and social impact studio that uses immersive
storytelling to create films that inspire action around pressing global
issues with a mission to help bring an end to extreme poverty.
